Winter Sports
There are various winter sports available in Bansko. The slopes offer plenty of opportunity for skiers and boarders alike, whilst adrenaline junkies can skidoo, quad bike in the snow and even para-ski! There is an ice rink in town and plenty of places for sledging!
Bansko Ski Slopes

- Highest skiing area: 2600 m

The well maintained ski pistes are 10 km above the town on the northern slopes of Pirin, and are easily accessible via a 25 minutes ride on the new Gondola lift which starts from Bansko. Some of the pistes offer wonderful conditions for night skiing, which is available through the season from 18.30 until 21.30.
Ski Season

Snow cannons cover most of the slopes and make the ski season last longer (ski season in Bansko runs from Mid December to early / mid May). Twelve slope maintenance vehicles maintain the pistes, which offer runs and tracks for all types of skiers and will suit both beginners and experts. Snowboard lovers can enjoy the Balkans fun park complete with half pipe and ice sculptures.
Ski Zone
The ski zone in Bansko is serviced by 22 km of speedy and comfortable lifts including 1 gondola lift, 5 four-seat chair lifts, 1 three-seat chair lift, 3 anchor type tow lifts, 2 single tow lifts, 10 children draggers.
Ski Patrol
The Emergency SKI PATROL service is available 24 hours a day. Ambulances and a clinic (with doctor and nurse) are available, as well as first aid, on all ski slopes. A fully equipped and functioning hospital is available in Bansko. Highly qualified dentists and pharmacies are available at the resort.
Apres Ski
The unique combination of a well developed mountain resort and a living historical town turns Bansko into an elegant place for entertainment. Virtually every house has its own story to tell, which indeed can turn your vacation into a journey to Bulgarian traditions.
The traditional Bansko taverns (called "Mehana"), with their exceptional charm and style, offer local atmosphere with their cuisine and good selection of Bulgarian wines. Most of the local "Mehanas" even offer live folk music. Discos and night clubs work without time limit, and usually close early in the morning.
