Eating and Drink

Bansko mountain resort is remarkable regarding restaurants and nightlife. During the active winter season the resort is full of visitors enjoying their mountain holiday. Numerous high class restaurants with perfect service and sophisticated menus can be found in most of the 5 and 4 star hotels.

More than 200 traditional Mehanas offer wide range of local and national delicious specialties and selected drinks. The traditional Bansko Taverns often have local musicians performing Bulgarian folk music, which creates a unique atmosphere.

Local cuisine is based around grilled meat dishes and slow cooked stews with a healthy salad often taken as a starter. Salads are traditionally taken with rakia which is a Bulgarian spirit, usually made from plums.
